It allows grades to be entered in any order; ie: any assignment for any
student at any time. It accesses most student records with a single keystroke.
It calculates weighted or unweighted grades, points, percents, or letter
grades.
A floppy can store dozens of class files, each with up to 35 students with up
to 45 assignments each. Each student's grade average is displayed every time
you enter a grade. PGS calculates class averages, analysis of any assignment
or of class averages, comparison of grades, ranked or alphabetical lists,
averages of all tests, homework scores, etc. It can provide individual
progress reports with averages for all assignment categories, and can also
monitor team progress.

weighting of grades, and support for numeric grade styles including whole, one
and two decimal style.

graphs for the teacher to use as a guide in assigning letter grades. It will
handle up to 50 students per class with up to 27 scores each. GKAL lets you
record the grades into an ordinary text file with word processor or text
editor (an excellent small editor, E88, is included on the disk, with the
permission of the author of E88). GKAL then processes the files to generate
the reports and graphs. As a matter of principle, GKAL won't assign final
letter grades automatically.

courses per student. You can enter your options for letter and percent
conversion, Pass-Fail, grade point computation and comments. You can
designate courses as non-credit, credit but no G.P.A. etc. You can enter 4
kinds of grades/comments: comment, regular grade, optional grade (like
semester exam) and computer entered grade (for example, a semester average,
which is computed from other grades that you have entered according to your
own formula).

or lowest grade can be quickly found. You can easily provide weekly or
monthly grade reports on a class or individual student basis, using student

individual reports for all students having a average lower than the value you
select. A Grade Posting report can be automatically printed for all classes
using student codes. Student rosters can be easily arranged in alphabetical

have done on each exam. You can also sum or average student scores for any
combination of exams. Password protection is optional.
Other features include sorting the students by name, ID, name & section, ID &
section, or by the grades from any exam, and list and choose students by name
or ID; temporarily drop students from statistical measures (like plots) and
print out empty grids for recording of grades. Printer support for all
dot-matrix, laser, and ink-jet printers. Limited Mouse support and support for
